News UK - Mock Press Conference Pressure

Journalist's across the world know that press conferences are stressful. They're a regular occurrence in the life of any reporter but, how does one cope with the pressure of trying to sum up the whole story in under 15 minutes?

"No Pressure, No Diamonds"

News UK held a mock press conference for the students of  the YJA, to show them how fast they will have to work if they want to survive being in the Journalist business. On the 12th August 2015, Duncan and his associate set the YJA student's a task to write a story from listening to two police officers addressing a murder at their press conference. Scary isn't it?

The task was to write a report on the robbery of a jewelry store in Stockville and write down in detail of the people involved, the description of the accessories, what was stolen, the time, the place. Do not worry, this incident took place in the 70's.

Even though this task was quite difficult, it taught the YJA students about structure and the organisation of their notes.
