Entering the room which we were staying in for the whole day was like walking into a childs toy box (for adults) it was so colourful! I mean, there were different types of colours splashed across the walls, the food was delicious, there variety of different drinks, and the best part was that everything was for free. Oh I did feel great that day.
After getting myself comfortable, our first session was with Stephen Rosenthal who was the head of the search engine's social media. Confident, quite sassy and funny, Stepehen introduced us to the world of Google and what it offers us now and in the future and I can assure you, Google have big plans for the future. Stephen was very truthful, and that was what I love about his session, he was proud about all of the things he had done in the past and the projects he will be venturing into, in the future and that's what made me really excited about my future. The only problem I found was that Stephen made it sound so easy, he made it sound really easy to become something in this world, in this industry, but is it? We all can't just pick up the phone and ask someone who has a very high status to shadow them, that isn't very realistic but, it is something I could try. Hello Stephen?
After an engaging session with Stephen, our next speaker came, and I found him truly exciting as he was simple, humble and gave great tips about how to elevate your online presence and become an online phenomenon, his name was Ben Whitelaw. There were two tips that greatly stood out to me, the first being "be persistent". This tip was one of my favorites as being persistent about something that you have a passion for will get you a long away, and the other tip was "be headstrong" as I know that whenever I write, I feel a little bit worried about the backlash but now, I know I need to be strong and believe in what I write.
After Ben's session two of the Google employee's took us around the HQ and it was absolutely amazing, I adored everything. The hot sun was beating down upon my groups face but that didn't stop us from gazing around Google's beautiful library. Instead of explaining, why don't I show you a glimpse of the scenery that I saw? As the day came to a close, I knew that this experience would stay with me forever.
